Biography

In 2014, Mr. Ugwah Vincent Nnamdi earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Federal University of Technology Owerri in Imo State. Following that, in 2021, he received a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ibadan. He began as a graduate assistant at the Department of Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering at the Federal University of Technology Owerri in 2019 and was promoted to Assistant Lecturer in 2021. He is presently in charge of the departmental Library. His passion has always been to use cutting-edge technology to advance agricultural and societal development.

 

He has devoted and continues to dedicate his research to ending hunger and poverty through the development of cutting-edge agricultural technologies. In order to lead research projects that will advance agricultural development and environmental sustainability, he collaborates closely with students and scholars from a variety of academic fields and multicultural backgrounds. He interacts with students in a variety of settings and promotes open discussion and debate in the courses he directs.  His latest research interests include the use of digital technologies for crop health monitoring, mitigating the impacts of climate change on agriculture, providing real-time insight into crop and soil health, improving management decisions, and ensuring quality food production and clean water supply.

 

Vincent is also a change agent, particularly when it comes to assisting youths in developing skills for a better socioeconomic position. He believes that “every African child deserves a life with better and sufficient nutrition” and through agriculture this can become a reality.
