Biography

Okere Chinenye Elizabeth is a Reader in Civil Engineering department of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri with specialization in Structures. She obtained her Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering in 1998, Master of Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy in Structural Engineering in 2006 and 2012 respectively, all from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri where she graduated as the best Civil engineering student in 1998. She has taught and mentored both undergraduates and post graduate (M.Eng and Ph.D) civil/structural engineering students for more than 15 years with their projects supervision included. She is a corporate member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN). She is also a skilled and COREN registered engineer who aims at excellence in whatever she does. She has been actively involved in Engineering Consultancy, Project Management, Supervision of Engineering Projects, Research, and Training and Academic advisory work. She has about 45 publications in both local and international journals of repute. She has also conducted professional review of papers for reputable journals. Her teaching and research interests revolve around optimization, mathematical modelling, civil engineering materials and structural analysis.
