Biography

Nnanyere Okwunna Aladi holds a PhD degree in Animal Products and Processing and has held a full time faculty position in the Department of Animal Science and Technology, Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) since 2009. He is actively researching on the use of bio-processing techniques to develop alternative technologies that will add value to animal food products, improve nutritive value of livestock feed material and reduce feed cost and use of food grains for feeding of monogastric animals in sub Saharan Africa. This drive has led to the development of FERMCARPP – low cost co-fermentation product of grated cassava root and palm kernel cake for replacement of maize in non-ruminant diets; okara fortified cassava meals for human and livestock feeding and CHICKLISH – a kilishi like meat cracker from chicken. One of his research paradigms is that ‘one day, we will profitably feed our chickens on straws’. Married with six children
