Biography

I am Dr, Mrs Peace C. Okere, a native of Obinze in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo state, Nigeria. I was born in Obinze, in the year 1974, into the family of Reverend and Mrs Clinton I. Npieri.

I attended Baptist Primary School from 1980 – 1986. My Secondary education was in Obinze Girls Secondary School, from 1986/87 – 1992. I also obtained a B. Agric. Degree in Animal Science from the year 1993/94 to 2000 in the University of Calabar, Calabar. My Masters and PhD degrees, in Animal Management and Production were both obtained from Federal University of Technology, Owerri in 2011 and 2019 consecutively.

I got married to Dr. J. O. Okere of Imo State University Owerri and he hails from Eziobodo in Owerri West Local Government Area.

I got employed into the Federal University of Technology, Owerri as an Assistant Lecturer in 2013.  I am presently a Lecturer 1 and had fully participated in teaching and supervision of undergraduate project works; about 25 undergraduates. I had also tutored many PGD and Master Students. I have published up to 14 papers in high impact journals and 10 conference papers.

I had served the University in different magnitudes; a class adviser from 2016/17 till date, represent SAAT Dean in SESET school board meetings, SAAT social service/welfare committee, member AST scholarship scheme planning committee and others too numerous to mention.

Finally, I am a member of the following Associations; Animal Science Association of Nigeria (ASN), Nigerian Institute of Animal Science (NIAS), Nigerian Society of Animal Production (NSAP) and Agricultural Society of Nigeria ( ASN).
