Biography

Hails from Obinokwu Duruemeruo/Duruokwaraku Amankuta Mbieri in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, Chinasaokwu Onyemauwa was born on the 12thof September, 1973 to the family of Late Chief Okenwa Sebastian Onyemauwa and Ezinne Ogbonyealu Margaret Onyemauwa (nee Ofili). Chinasaokwu had his early education at the Central School II Owerri (1979-85) followed by a secondary education at Emmanuel College Owerri (1985-1991).

Following his impressive result in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination, Chinasaokwu Onyemauwa secured admission to the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) in 1994 to read Agricultural Economics and Extension. He pursued his studies in FUTO with high sense of responsibility, commitment and dedication and graduated in Bachelor of Agricultural Technology (with Second Class Honours, Upper Division) in 1999. He proceeded for his National Youths Service in Lagos State (2000/2001) and returned to FUTO in 2002 for M.Sc in Agricultural Economics which he bagged in 2006. Chinasaokwu was hired at Premier Secondary School, Orji Owerri Between 2001 and 2005 where he taught basic sciences (Mathematics, Agric Science, Economics, Biology, and Computer Science). He was employed as a Graduate Assistant in (his alma mater) the Department of Agric Economics in the Federal University of Technology, Owerri being among the graduates in his set with impressive class of degree. He obtained PhD in Agricultural Project Management from the Department of Agricultural Economics, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike in 2015. He has moved through the ranks in his profession to his present position as a Senior Lecturer. He is currently being appraised as a full Professor. 

Dr. C.S. Onyemauwa has also served as a Consultant for some Agricultural Projects sponsored by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) which include IFAD/ Value Chain Development Programme (Data Harmonization Project, Minna – Niger State, 2017), IFAD/Value Chain Development Programme (Beneficiary Impact Assessment Survey Minna – Niger State, 2018).

Dr. Chinasaokwu Onyemauwa is happily married to Mrs. Rosekate Ogadimma Onyemauwa(Nee Chikwendu) and the union is blessed with five children.
