Biography

Mbonu, Ekene Samuel is a Control System Expert and R&D Consultant. He had his B. Eng in Electronics and Computer Engineering, from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria (NAU) in 2005; M.Eng in Computer Engineering  in 2012, and PhD in Computer and Control Engineering in 2017. He is presently a lecturer in the department of Mechatronics FUTO. He was the head of mechatronics department and also head R& D department at Electronic Development Institute (Former Centre for Adaptation of Technology-CAT), Awka under National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, (NASENI-FMST), Nigeria where he worked as a Senior R&D Engineer from 2007-2014. In 2009, he served with the mechatronics team that automated cassava flour mill at Scientific Equipment Development Institute, SEDI Minna, Nigeria. In 2012, he was a resource person at IEEE workshop on robotics in Abuja Nigeria. In 2014, he served with the military research team that repaired   the surveillance system of   930 military aircraft belonging to Nigerian Air Force, at Air Force Headquarters, Benin, Edo State, Nigeria. In 2014 also he received award from IEEE USA as a resource person on symposium on special topics from industries at Federal university of Technology Owerri, FUTO, Nigeria. Ekene worked at Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company, SNEPCo, Lagos Nigeria in 2015 as a PhD research intern on control system security. He has also worked in different areas of embedded and computer systems design such as Remote Application Based Systems, Artificial Intelligent Systems, Wireless Sensor Applications, Computer Interface with Embedded System, Modelling/Simulations of Real Time Systems.  He is a Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (2010 – date). His areas of interest include – Industrial Control System automation using LabVIEW and associated softwares and hardwares, Network Design & Cloud Management, Embedded Systems, WSN Technologies, Remote Monitoring and Reporting, and Project Management. He has about 20 technical publications, and has presented papers in both Int’l and local conferences. Professionally, he is a Cooperate Member of NSE, IEEE, ISA, IAENG & COREN.
