Biography

Mr. Okon Kooffreh is currently an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. He possesses a Master’s degree in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the National Open University of Nigeria/National Teachers’ Institute, Kaduna. He has acquired industrial experience in welding and fabrication, sheet metal work, foundry, shaping, milling, machining, forging, pipe fitting, drawing and development at Metallurgical Training Institute, Onitsha and G.E. Amadi Welding and Fabrication Company, Port Harcourt.

He also has ten years of experience in teaching Mathematics and Further Mathematics as well as preparing students successfully for Cambridge IGCSE Additional Mathematics (0606), CIE A Level Mathematics (9709), PSAT Math, SAT Math, American Mathematics Contest (AMC), International Mathematics Olympiads, WASSCE, UTME and NECO Examinations. He has completed several Professional Development courses from British Council and COBIS-Educare on understanding lesson management, online safety, engaging talented learners, equality and diversity, use of reasonable force in schools, the prevent duty, engaging with learning technologies, child protection in education, engaging with professional development, an introduction to child sexual exploitation and a practical guide to GDPR for education.
